"The Knight Center has broadened my horizons and opened many doors for me. I am very grateful to have been a part of it."

My graduate years at the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism and Michigan State University have influenced my life tremendously. The classes I took, such as environmental video production and environmental reporting, led and equipped me to land several internships.

While in school, I worked as a graduate assistant at the Knight Center. The first internship I got was at Voice of America in Washington, D.C., and later at Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. After graduation, I moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and found a job as editor of Earthworm Digest, an environmental magazine focusing on reporting the latest news in vermicomposting (worm composting).

If I hadn't have gotten into the Knight Center’s environmental journalism program, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do what I do now: report on environmental stories, edit stories with sufficient computer abilities and do layouts for the magazine. The Knight Center has broadened my horizons and opened many doors for me. I am very grateful to have been a part of it.

Please go to www.wormdigest.org and find out more about what earthworms can do to save our planet and soil.
